Jennifer Garner, who was born and was raised within Charleston West Virginia, on April 17th, 1973 was born in Houston, Texas. William John Garner was her father, and was a chemical engineer company called Union Carbide. Patricia Ann, her mother taught at a local college. So that she could follow the footsteps of her father, she obtained a degree in chemical engineering. In order to pursue her dream as an actor, she relocated into New York to try her luck in the movies. The restaurant she worked in was and was a part of Broadway plays. Her husband of the first time Scott Foley met her on the show "Felicity," where she appeared as a character. Garner had her first big part in "13 Going on 30" which was a romantic comedy well-received. Garner played a teenage girl trapped inside her body as an adult. Garner chose Gary Winick as the director of her film. The team continued to look for roles until Winick's passing in the year 2011. In 2009, Garner became an ambassador to the arts for Save the Children U.S.A. Role includes national literacy promotion along with nutrition, early childhood education and different aspects. Garner has been a member of the board for the non-profit group from 2014. She advocates early childhood education. In her role as an ambassador, Garner visits often with the families who are part of Early Steps to School Success the program which trains parents in how to assist youngsters in their learning.
