Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most popular actors. Linney is renowned for playing strong characters but also fragile. Her father was a renowned playwright. However, she was raised as an all-only child with a single mother, a nurse. Through the summer months and with her father Linney was able to develop a passion for theatre. She eventually studied acting first at Brown University then at Juilliard School. Her Broadway career soon after completing her degree after which she made her debut on television the following year. Since then, she has been in numerous films as well as TV and stage productions. During her career she received several awards, among them the two Golden Globe Awards. Although she received many awards over the years, theater is always her main love.
