Katherine Heigl discusses the ways that growing up as a child within a "white bubble" affected the way she raised her family of multiracial origins. She is the "Firefly Lane" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in a recent interview -- when it came to skin tone, it wasn't a factor for her the way she looked when she was younger, but once she talked about her sister's age, who was taken in from South Korea, she realized how differently society viewed each of both. "I inquired of my sister, Meg, if she had been treated one way while out in public with our parents, and another way in the time she was by herself without them. Meg said, 'Oh, sure, I've seen it all I've seen it all! Heigl talked to parents about the moment she realised the naivety of her actions. The actor said she became angry but felt she needed to channel her anger in order to assist the adopted children she has. Heigl, who has been engaged to Josh Kelley for 13 years, have a son, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. They adopted their daughter Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide eight who is Black and was adopted in 2012.
